Grant Thornton Cyprus partners with SupportCY to drive community impact

Grant Thornton Cyprus is proud to announce the success of this year's GT in the Community Days, where over half of our colleagues partnered with SupportCY of Bank of Cyprus to bring meaningful change to two small communities: Agios Epifanios in Nicosia and Doros in Limassol. As part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), this collaboration focused on environmental and social initiatives that align with our global Go Beyond strategy and our dedication to building a sustainable future.

Throughout the course of two days, our team engaged in various activities aimed at improving public spaces and enhancing the quality of life for the residents of these communities. Our efforts included painting public areas, refreshing children's toys in parks, cleaning community spaces, and caring for trees. These actions embody our belief in giving back to the communities we serve, ensuring that we leave a lasting positive impact.

Commenting on this year’s activities, Stavros Ioannou, CEO of Grant Thornton Cyprus said: "Giving back to our communities is at the heart of our values. The work we do through GT in the Community Days reflects our ongoing commitment to social responsibility, and we are excited to continue building stronger, more resilient communities for the future. Our partnership with Support CY highlights the power of collective effort. Together, we have been able to make a tangible difference and we look forward to continuing this impactful journey."

Grant Thornton Cyprus ESG Champion Marlen Kilaniotou Patzinakou stated: "Through our strategic collaboration with SupportCY, our CSR actions this year have given us the privilege to give back to two small local communities. This initiative was a strong reminder that when we come together, even small acts of service can make a lasting impact and create brighter futures for everyone involved."

Marios Stavrou, Head of Operations at SupportCY of the Bank of Cyprus, emphasized that, “True to our philosophy, yet another initiative was successfully implemented to benefit the Cypriot society, with the ongoing collaboration with Grant Thornton Cyprus. Through such partnerships, the social impact grows, and the benefit multiplies. On one hand, the fire prevention framework for these two communities was strengthened, and on the other hand, young people contributed to the local communities.”

This year’s GT in the Community Days were a testament to Grant Thornton's ESG framework and our mission to demonstrate care and responsibility. By partnering with SupportCY, we continue to invest in a sustainable tomorrow, showing the way for both businesses and the community.
